Royals vs. Cards: Over the Topps

Hey gang! With the holiday on Thursday, we're taking it pretty easy. We hope you are too.

In the 70s, Topps often would put fun facts with cartoon illustrations on the backs of their baseball cards. We poked fun at some of those cards earlier this season, but there are plenty more ready to be mocked.

This is our second post on the cartoons from the 1974 Topps set. Here are more fun, but useless, cartoony facts about your favorite (and not-so-favorite) Royals!

Gaylord Perry:
 Gaylord is a mafia enforcer.

Steve Foucault:
 Steve has three right arms.

Bucky Dent:
Bucky's grandmother was a fine ballplayer in her own right, but she never made it above Double-A.

Ken Sanders:
Unfortunately, Ken's school couldn't afford a soccer ball. Instead, they had to use a hubcap.

Tom Hall:
Tom will cut you, bitch.

Jerry Grote:
Jerry also bought a hat. Pretty spiffy!

Tony Muser:
 Tony peaked in high school.

George Scott:
George goes by the nicknames "Boomer" and "The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant."

Buddy Bell:
This explains how Buddy was able to get three different managerial gigs.

Juan Beniquez:
To be fair, Juan had a giant hole in his baseball glove and left hand.

Joe Hoerner:
Joe can get Tang anytime he wants.

Dave Nelson:
Dave experimented a bit in college.

Have a happy and safe holiday!

Go 4th of July! You're the Best!
